The leaves already start to get their autumn colors. I think the forest is done with being hot and dry – like me…
Finally!
Summer is for me not the best time for photography. But after the heatwave finally broke, there was a bit of mist this morning. See how small we as humans actually are! Dwarfed…
Hiking in spring
Recently, I’ve been expanding my hikes. Today, I walked from Groesbeek to Gennep, through beautiful forest lanes and spring flowers. How I’m enjoying the spring!

Favorite view
I return to this view – only a couple hundred meters from our home – again and again. The oak tree leaning over the bicycle path, the white birches catching the light, the ivy growing on the tree trunks: I know it by heart but it’s new every time.
Spring colors
Today was an ideal day to go out with my camera. Spring is really here, with the soft greens and striking reds of the young beech leaves. What a blessing to be able to enjoy this!
Playing around
I’ve been experimenting with a photo studio in my attic, with a tripod, a black sheet, my phone and the natural light from the window. I’m happy with the result!

Fallen
We’ve had some big storms this year, and many trees have fallen, like this old beech tree. Even in destruction, there is beauty!
Out of Africa…
Leopards in the zoo are beautiful too!
Waiting for spring…
The weather was great in the past week, but the forest is still waiting for spring. And maybe that is for the best, since tomorrow the temperature is expected to drop again.
