As the days grow shorter and colder, there is a lot of moisture in the air, more often than not in the form of rain. It seems to wash away colors and details, leaving only the most essential information.

I took this picture, and looking at it on my laptop I thought, “Nah, too misty, and with those dead trees… Let’s throw it out.” Then I looked at it again today, and now I think it’s actually beautiful! Weird, how your perception changes from day to day…
That magical moment when golden light touches the leaves but a chilly morning fog still lies in the distance…
Today I was fortunate enough to show my parents one of my favorite places!
A misty spring morning with fresh green treen and wild flowers. I’m so happy to live here!
I’ve been living here for almost five months now, an sometimes I really feel I’ve entered a fairytale when I go for my morning walk!
A beautiful hike in the Garden Castle section of the Drakensberg Mountains. The hike goes up to a cave called Pillar Cave. Although we didn’t make it all the way to the cave (still struggling with my back…) the scenery was amazing. The smoke in the background is from controlled burning of the grasslands to create firebreaks, protecting the World Heritage Site of the Drakensberg.
“I listened, motionless and still;
and as I mounted up the hill,
the music in my heart I bore,
long after it was heard no more.”
– William Wordsworth
A little bay along the St. Blaize’s trail near Mossel Bay. Such beautiful scenery!
