Finally had time to edit some photos I made two weeks ago when it was very cold and a blanket of mist lay over the water and fields. Beautiful!

I’ve been settling in in our new house. Gone are the forests of the Nijmegen region, but this area has real beauty too. I still needed a misty morning to get out with my camera – old habits die hard!

It’s been so long since I found time to get out into the forest! But today I was working from home and when it started to get foggy I packed my camera and tripod and went out. A last chance to get some autumn colors!
I’ve been back a while, but finally the weather gods and employment gods joined up to give me the opportunity to photograph a misty morning on a quiet work-at-home day. So happy! Much better than seeing the fog from the train!

Sometimes you take a photo and you come back home and it just doesn’t do anything for you. If that’s the case, it may be worthwhile to take a second look at it a couple weeks later. This one matured pretty well!
The higher parts of Madeira island are often shrouded in mist. I love seeing the clouds rolling towards me, and seeing the sun shine when I look in the other direction. Watch the video if you want to know what I mean!

Still a few leaves left in the forest!
I’ve been pushing myself, teaching 3 courses and two tutorials over the past weeks. This week I was feeling under the weather with a cold but was able to still do my classes. So today it’s time for self-care: a nice hike in the morning with plenty of photo opportunities!

With lots of teaching duties this fall, I’m afraid there won’t be much time for photography. A misty Sunday morning is a real gift!
