Two zebras wrangling with each other. it was not a very serious fight, but rather a playful squabble in which one kept on trying to bite the others ears or heels, like an annoying little sibling, perhaps.

Leopard in black and white
The leopard at the National Zoological Gardens in Pretoria is one of my favorite and most willing subjects. This is a black and white edit of one of the photos I took during today’s Zoo Fun Walk.

Giraffes are cautious but curious animals. If you stop to watch them, they are likely to come closer and watch what strange thing is parked in front of them. I once saw a pair of giraffes move slowly towards a pride of lions, seemingly just to check them out…

Zebras
A group of zebras posed beautifully on top of a hill. Zebras often live in harems of one stallion with up to six mares. So there may be space for more in this group!

Kudu male
What a majestic beast is the kudu! This male was out walking with his harem in the afternoon when the sun was setting. Actually, male kudus generally live in bachelor groups, or, more often, solitarily.

Who says portraits should be of people? This majestic male giraffe obviously has personality!
