Two zebras wrangling with each other. it was not a very serious fight, but rather a playful squabble in which one kept on trying to bite the others ears or heels, like an annoying little sibling, perhaps.
A group of zebras posed beautifully on top of a hill. Zebras often live in harems of one stallion with up to six mares. So there may be space for more in this group!
A mother zebra and her young, in the early morning light against a black background. What a nice family portrait! (If I may say so myself…)
A baby zebra seeking the safety and comfort of her mother’s side. I love the stripes on stripes!
Such a cute little baby zebra!
I was surprised to see so many baby animals in Pilanesberg last week, since winter is coming soon. But I guess that for now there is enough food to be had from the long grass.
“Just living is not enough…
one must have sunshine,
freedom, and a little flower.”

Rietvlei at the moment is so amazingly beautiful! The fields are green and purple and yellow… all the colours of an enchanting summer. This young zebra obliged for a portrait in front of a field of purple flowers. The animals don’t really seem to like the flowers, though, they prefer their grass to be green!
