Another amazing hike on the Gardenroute is St. Blaise’s trail in Mossel Bay. A narrow path leads over the rocks, giving beautiful views over the ocean below.

Sunset on the rocky coast at Storms River Mouth. Here the sea seems to be engaged in an endless war on the rocks of the shoreline. Waves clash over the jagged edges day and night. A really stormy place!

Waterfall
The Waterfall trail at Storms River Mouth Rest Camp ends at a beautiful waterfall where the water drops over a cliff into a rock pool that connects to the sea. The water is clean and cool – and offers a great opportunity for a swim after the demanding hike!
Ocean view
Hiking the Waterfall trail at Storms River Mouth Rest Camp – which is also the beginning of the Otter trail. After a particularly challenging scramble over the rocks on the beach we took the opportunity to rest in the shade of a large cave. What a spectacular view on the ocean shore!
Jagged beach
The beautifully jagged rock formations at the coast near Storms River Mouth. The lichen on the rocks make them extraordinarily colorful, especially in combination with the blue water in the tidal pools. The first leg of the famous Otter Trail passes this stretch of coastline.
